Abstract
  • This project proposes that sermons shaped by the form and poetry of the Psalms can realize three ministry goals: worship, teaching, and providing therapeutic help. To this end the project prepares and delivers sermons from seven Psalms, taking into account major types of Psalms, their poetic features, and guidelines for intepreting and preaching them from the works of Elizabeth Achtemeier, William H Bellinger, Jr, Thomas G Long, and Leland Ryken. Listener evaluations indicate that these sermons accomplish the ministry goals.
