Abstract
  • God created variety and diversity in human beings, not separations. Barriers are not in God's designs for humanity or in the body of Christ. Culture shapes a person's perception of other people. Human barriers are learned attributes. The Holy Spirit equips Christians with a new nature capable of unlearning social barriers in an environment that is conducive to positive personal interactions. Small groups are proven tools for enhancing human relationships. Therefore, structured heterogeneous small groups could be the vehicle to help a multicultural church such as the First Baptist of Vacaville, California, to overcome social barriers.
