- Abstract
- This work is designed to help the preacher proclaim God as creator even as he or she finds inspiration in science. It takes the position that science and faith, even evolution and creation, are not incompatible but can strengthen one another. The first chapter tracks the rise of tension between science and religion. Chapter two examines essential strands of the Christian doctrine of creation with special emphasis on the theologies of Barth, Tillich, and John Cobb. The final section offers a few selected sermons with an accompanying homiletic discussion.
