Abstract
  • The purpose of the project was to develop a strategy to instill institutional stewardship in the student body of the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. The student was then to present the strategy to the administration of the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (NOBTS). The project was to develop a strategy that would increase the likelihood that graduates of NOBTS would become financial supporters of the institution. Among the hundreds of thousands of titles that have been published that related to fund-raising in higher education, little material was available that was specific to this area of research. This area of research was concentrated on how other institutions of higher education were developing currently enrolled students so they will eventually become financial supporters of the institution. A group of development directors at select schools were interviewed by the project director. Each director was asked the same series of questions that related to how they raised money. Each was asked specifically about how they were attempting to instill a sense of responsibility for the institution in their currently enrolled student body. Phone interviews were the primary source of information for this project along with books and dissertation.
