- The author researched the effect on Christ-followers of a twelve-week spiritual formation class plus the practice of spiritual disciplines on their practice of the presence of God. It looked at how they changed as a result of that practice. The Christian spiritual participation profile was used to measure the balance of and depth of participation in: their experience with God, their critical reflection of culture and self, their interaction with God's Word, and their relationship with others.
