Abstract
  • This ministry project was an effort to break into the relatively closed system of law enforcement by improving understanding between officers and chaplains. In addition to several years service as a volunteer chaplain, the author completed the Missouri basic law enforcement class and was accepted as a member of the International Conference of Police Chaplains, and endorsed by the Home Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. The conference, planned, conducted, and evaluated by the author, showed movement toward greater willingness to use chaplains by the officers in attendance.
