Abstract
  • This project develops a program to enlist, train, and lead selected older adults to meet some spiritual and relational needs of homebound adults. The project uses teaching sessions, a seminar, case studies, group discussion, and role playing to prepare the students to implement peer grief counseling and home Bible study. The project employs historical, experimental and descriptive research methods with two control groups and an experimental group, evaluating experimental group participants' growth in four areas. Statistically significant growth appears in the experimental group's understanding of homebound ministry, and the program of ministry is initiated successfully.
