  • The thesis examines the relationship of young adults to the church. As aliens and sojourners on earth, God's people must welcome young adults in a common pilgrimage toward mature faith and adulthood and provide a climate which will enable young adults to search for a mature faith. The study includes research on issues of faith development in young adults, an exploration of the concept and terms related to pilgrimage, and practical issues in ministry to young adults. The most important conclusion is that for young adults to be nurtured and challenged, they must be welcomed in light of scriptural injunctions regarding the treatment of aliens, strangers, and sojourners.
