- Abstract
- The project culminates in an orientation seminar for foreign-born and newly-arrived ethnic pastors serving Southern Baptist ethnic churches in central Florida. The objectives are to orient the new pastors about ethnicity in the United States, to inform them about the Southern Baptist Convention and to lead them to contextualize the gospel, ecclesiology, and polity in their congregations. The research was done through a series of questionnaires and evaluations which influenced the content of the seminar. The seminar was planned and implemented as a two-hour seminary course. The project shows that an orientation for foreign-born ethnic pastors is feasible and that it can be effective.
