Abstract
  • Within a relatively short time HIV/AIDS has become an epidemic which poses a serious threat to society. If HIV/AIDS patients are cared for, they will live longer and their lives will be more fulfilled. The threat that the disease presents to society is highlighted, the natures of the disease is looked at, the needs of the patients and attitudes towards them are explored and the church's response is considered. The research reveals that the church is not adequately responding to the needs of HIV/AIDS patients. A way is proposed for the church to begin to help patients and their families.
