- Abstract
- Spiritual care for the elderly is mandatory by Dutch law, and state funded when the elderly are given residential care, and when the care centers provide transmural care to elderly living at home. Questions such as euthanasia and abortion are treated in the section on the dignity of the human person at all stages. A tentative theology of aging is gleaned from biblical and other sources. The Christian vocation of death is part of that theology. Pointers are given for drawing up a catechesis for the elderly.
