Abstract

This project will train a select group of leaders enlisted from Southcliff Baptist Church to develop a vibrant, effective collegiate ministry. Some of these leaders are currently involved in collegiate ministry while others are interested in working with college students. All of the participants have expressed an interest in participating in leadership training. The project will begin with five weekly sessions, meeting on Sunday afternoon. Through these sessions, this author will establish a biblical foundation for leadership training, will lead in goal setting, will develop a comprehensive list of needs and characteristics, will establish a strong ministry mission statement, and will lead discussions on effective collegiate ministry. This project will culminate with a seven-session retreat held on Friday evening through Sunday noon. The retreat will explore significant topics and apply the foundational concepts covered in the first five sessions into the overall collegiate ministry of Southcliff Baptist Church. The final session of the project will be an overall evaluation time. The retreat, the training of this particular learning process, and future plans will be evaluated.
