This thesis-project was an evaluative study of the assimilation processes of a local church. Its primary purpose was to determine the extent to which members and attenders of a large suburban church were being incorporated into its life and organizational structure. A research questionnaire and a series of interviews with church members who had dropped out of active involvement with the church were the research tools used to gather data, the analysis of which was used to determine the degree of assimilation. Results included the determination that formal membership greatly impacts the involvement of church attenders, and that significant numbers of church attenders are not involved or assimilated.
