Abstract
  • The author researched intentional interim ministry in a United Methodist context as a viable tool in assisting transitional crisis churches to identify and rethink their story through the lens of God's overarching story. The author shared her personal narrative as an interim minister. Considered was intentional interim ministry in the Presbyterian, Baptist and Episcopal traditions. The author investigated the Methodist historical narrative for parallels between itinerant and intentional interim ministry. Obstacles to intentional interim ministry were explored. The author closed sharing her first six months as an intentional interim in the North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church.
