  • Through the training of rural Korean Christian leaders in the use of holistic health care teams, a reproducible model could be developed, enabling participants to become the catalyst for improved spiritual and physical health in their communities. A participatory, field research method was employed in the implementation of this project. Conclusions were that this model has the potential for reproducibility not only in the rural areas of Korea, but in the urban districts as well. Furthermore, ministry paradigm shifts are needed in Korea: in the health care system from curative to a preventative educational approach; in the traditional church planting model to a community-based indigenous model; and in mission strategy to an indentificational, decentralized method.
