Abstrakt

The development of a mission statement served as both a guide and stimulant during the creation of a pastoral counseling center. In developing the statement, central consideration was given to biblical tradition, followed by covenant community, holistic health ministry and health care, and the composite of research and data. Directors of nine hospital-based pastoral counseling centers provided the data. The end result was eight guidelines for developing and accomplishing the mission statement of a hospital-based pastoral counseling center.
