- This research studied the effects of pastoral care interventions with therapeutic touch and visualization in a spiritual context on cancer patients. Six case studies were done. The research showed that the interventions reduced or alleviated pain and deeply relaxed the patient in 100% of the patients studied. They assisted emotionally by reducing or alleviating fear, hurts, anxiety, and sadness. They aided the patients spiritually by enhancing or renewing their relationship with God and by helping them to deal with their disease. The research showed that these interventions can be a viable therapeutic pastoral care tool in ministry.
