Abstract
  • This research project explored how a visit to Israel and Palestine on a justice pilgrimage (focusing on meeting the contemporary communities and coming to a better and more nuanced understanding of the realities of life there) affects the participants. The outcomes confirmed that participants in such pilgrimages are, largely, affected by them – and especially encouraged by meeting local people who share their daily realities and life experiences. Such participants have come back from justice pilgrimages encouraged to be more active in their churches, more focussed in their prayer life, more directed in their financial support, and more politically engaged.
