- Abstract
- This thesis deals with the question: To what extent does the faith development which comes as a result of adult nurture programs in a new church development congregation increase commitment to the church? The thesis follows the journey of a new church development congregation through the eyes of their former minister. The research data was collected in three ways: questionnaire; interviews done by an objective interviewer; and personal recollections by the author. This information was shared in the context of contemporary literature and theological reflection. The conclusion was that adult nurture was important to the people; however, the sense of community and relevant worship were the most profound influences on people's commitment.
