Abstract
  • This project proposes that leadership skills and practices can be taught, in order to provide effective leadership in black Baptist churches. The project surveys eight black Baptist churches in metropolitan Kansas City, interviewing pastoral leaders and church members to obtain a sample of pastoral leadership practices and a sample of lay membership responses to those practices. The project examines relationships between pastoral leadership practices and lay membership responses.
