Abstract
  • This project explored religious experience in the Cursillo Movement from a psychological and theological perspective. Religious experience was understood as one in which an individual has an intense experience of God's presence and this experience has a radical influence that moves one into a deeper realization of who God is and what God requires. Through a qualitative study of fourteen participants it was concluded that the participants had a genuine religious experience. This project concludes by commending the role of Cursillo within the church and highlights the need to understand, nurture and validate religious experiences within the Anglican/Episcopal tradition.
