- This project seeks to help Hispanic pastors in the California Southern Baptist Convention (CSBC) develop skills necessary to prepare and preach expository sermons. Chapter 1 introduces CSBC, its unique position to impact the Hispanic community, and the need for this project. Chapter 2 addresses biblical and theological issues concerning expository preaching. Chapter 3 presents an analysis of the influence of Liberation Theology and the Charismatic movement, as well as social realities, on the Hispanic community in the United States. Chapter 4 explains the project methodology, with focus given to a training conference featuring lectures on expository preaching and the delivery of an expository sermon. Chapter 5 includes an evaluation of the project's strengths and weaknesses, theological reflection, conclusions, and implications for further study.
