Abstract
  • This project is a presentation and a biblical and theological analysis of the principal claims of the signs and wonders movement (miracles for power evangelism, prophesying and words of knowledge, and exorcism) particularly as they are influencing churches of the Baptist General Conference. Beginning with an historical overview of similar claims in church history, the project evaluates the biblical bases posited for these claims, raising awareness of the issues and making suggestions for responses to them. All of this is informed by observation of 'signs and wonders' church services, seminars and dialogues and interviews with numerous colleagues and denominational leaders.
