Abstract
  • The purpose of this study was to examine the leadership roles of church officers in three Fox Cities' churches to determine if the pastor was the leader of the congregation or if the pastor shared leadership. This study was a qualitative study which gathered information through the use of interviews. The literature was divided regarding the matter of pastoral leadership. Some literature advocated strong leadership and other literature argued for shared leadership between the pastor and church officers. The author's conclusion is the pastor should serve as a 'first among equals' with the other church officers, serving as their leader.
