- Abstract
- A survey was made of 40 mission churches in the Oklahoma Diocese. Replies from 32 (80 percent) churches indicate that most are trying to survive. A weekend workshop, consisting of five sessions, was planned, offering a study from an Episcopal perspective of the gifts and ministry of the Holy Spirit. The workshop attempted to clear some of the doubts and fears concerning spiritual renewals in the congregations. Studies are made of the primary resources and the theological writings of early 19th and 20th century Anglican authors to the present. Many confirm that there can be no evangelism if there is no spiritual renewal in the churches.
