Abstract
  • The thesis of the study is that the more lay people are involved in sermon preparation, the better their understanding of the preached sermon will be. The study engaged three groups of laity at different levels of involvement in the preparation of four sermons. As the level of involvement in the sermon preparation increased, there was a corresponding increase in the effectiveness of communication between pulpit and pew.
