Abstract
  • Many retirees began moving to the resort area created when Toledo Bend Reservoir was built in 1967. Twenty-two Southern Baptist churches minister in this area. The population of the area has continued to increase, but the attendance in the churches has decreased. This project describes the development and administration of a strategy for equipping five of the churches to grow by congregationalizing the retirees. The writer trained and assisted the pastors and leaders of the five participating churches to start retiree fellowship groups. The retirees attracted other retirees, and three of the churches grew.
