- The purpose of this project was to develop tools that assist in evaluating processes used by Southern Baptist associations for developing and implementing strategies toward success. The project director defines success for the associational missionary by assisting churches in the association with accomplishing the kingdom challenges they understand to have been commanded through Scripture. A result of this project director's work is the creation of a simple, short-term clarifying process for strategy development, specifically for rural associations. The project director explored demographics and the biblical, doctrinal foundations for strategic planning in phase one. Phase two contained the research and evaluation of existing alternative programs and best practices for strategic planning. Phase three included the evaluation and writing of the strategic planning process, and phase four included the presentation of the newly designed approach to a team of qualified evaluators and practitioners.
