Abstract
  • This project determines the lasting effects in communication of a marriage encounter weekend on married couples where the husband is an incarcerated sex offender. A pre-test/post-test design is employed to test the hypothesis that there would be improvement in the areas of: 1) affective communication; 2) problem solving communication; and 3) global stress. The 'Marital Satisfaction Inventory' is used before the weekend and ten weeks later to determine whether change occurs. Test results are supplemented by four individual interviews. An improvement is found in all three areas studied.
