Abstract
  • The problem this project addressed was the need for clarification concerning the elements that impact the effectiveness of confirmation. The dependent variable in this project was the effectiveness of the confirmation program in meeting the identified core ministry value. The researcher concluded that the following independent variable had no statistical significance on effectiveness: primary goal of the confirmation program, geographic location of the church, class size, length of confirmation program, age student began confirmation, confirmation teacher's philosophy of education, and curriculum used. Interviews conducted revealed that there were five characteristics of more effective confirmation programs.
