Abstract
  • This study compares the effectiveness of different sermon forms (narrative vs propositional) on sermon recall of Indonesian-Chinese teenagers influenced by postmodernism and technology. Subjects were exposed to five different expository sermons in the two sermon forms and their responses to a questionnaire were collected the next day (N-1,000). There was no significant difference between the sermon forms and the subjects ability to recall the big idea. Narrative sermons are as equally effective as propositional sermons in recall. Preachers should consider narrative preaching as part of their homiletical repertoire to engage this neglected group of listeners.
