Abstract
  • This project focuses on St. John Lutheran Church's extended engagement with the Sermon on the Mount as a way to reunite belief and practice. This paper explores the history of interpretation and application of the Sermon and analyzes a four-month period of experiencing the Sermon in the congregation through preaching, teaching, small group discussion, and journaling. As a result, a renewed Lutheran approach to the Sermon on the Mount is offered.
