Abstract
  • Participants were led into greater intimacy with God using narrative theology as a framework in which to teach and practice spiritual disciplines. This project contains research of the Bible as well as writings and theology of spiritually mature people through the centuries. Participants learned and practiced twelve spiritual disciplines, sharing their experiences in a small group, for fourteen weeks. Findings included: spiritual disciplines are a substantive part of intimacy with God, intimacy with God is for the community and not the individual alone, and adults desire a relevant, well planned study where they learn from their own and others' experiences.
