Abstract
  • This project involved introducing project associates to strategic planning procedures; equipping them to serve as resource persons for an all-day retreat of the administrative council; conducting the retreat, developing both a mission statement and specific goals evolving out of that statement, and the administrative council's adoption of the mission statement goals. Strategic planning is the model used to intervene in the on-going life of this urban congregation that envisioning for the future may take place. Strategic planning is an effective model in enabling vision, but involvement in the process itself is the major way that envisioning took place.
