- Abstract
- This project sought to determine how a declining African American congregation, could regain vitality, improve communication and develop a new vision through the use of Appreciative Inquiry (AI). The author introduced ways to stimulate communication within the congregation using the appreciative inquiry method in structuring surveys and questioners that guided the conversations of the congregation during workshops and trainings. Through the analysis of the internal and external factors that contributed to the loss of vision and communication, the author used the appreciative inquiry method to create a safe place for dialogue in a place that had become a weary land.
