  • Foreign subsidies can have a negative effect on a national church, stifling initiative and hindering growth. Subsidies can, in the right circumstances, help a church to mature and take on financial responsibility for its own ministry. This project seeks to assist the church and mission in Angola to find a balance, so that subsidies will help and not hinder the growth of the church. Based on interviews with Angolan church leaders and foreign mission leaders on the effects of financial subsidies, the project offers recommendations to the church and mission regarding their future financial relationship.
