Abstract
  • This project evaluated the integration of formational prayer into the curriculum of Dimensions of Healing, PC 827, at the Detroit Center of Ashland Theological Seminary. A pretest and posttest were used to determine the knowledge and practice of different types of prayer, the knowledge and experience of the work of the Holy Spirit and the commitment to self-care. Results show that students gained in their knowledge and understanding of formational prayer and made a better commitment to self-care. However, the changes in their sense of wholeness, wellbeing and experience of the Holy Spirit during their prayer time, were promising but less substantial.
