Abstract
  • Evangelical churches in Australia acknowledge church planting as a good thing, but very few actively engage in church planting. The study uses a survey format to obtain data regarding church planting in the Churches of Christ in Australia. The total number of congregations is approximately 450 with 102 responding to the survey. 20% of the churches responding had attempted a church plant in the last ten years. The study sought to determine the primary reasons for not attempting to plant a church and then assess those to in light of the attitudes and experiences of churches attempting a church plant.
