Abstract
  • This thesis project is a proposal to help resolve the suffering of Korean Christian women. Korean women have lived with social values and principles that are grounded in a dualistic patriarchy and hierarchal system. These values and principles hinder the spirituality of liberation in Korean society and church. Christian tradition and the Bible present the authentic spirituality that Jesus Christ shows us from his life. This authentic and holistic spirituality and new perspective of Christian doctrines propose ways for new vision in the Korean church. The final chapter suggests spiritual direction as a pastoral response to help Korean Christian women. The method of James Whitehead and Evelyn Whitehead is employed which has three stages: attending, assertion and pastoral response.
