  • This project is designed to foster Lutheran-Catholic ecumenical dialogue on Mary in local communities. The project paper studies Mary in the Christian Scriptures and the Catholic and Lutheran traditions and examines the convergences and divergences resulting from this analysis. In doing so, the adult formation dialogue process was developed. This project paper extensively references the 1990 'Common Statement: The One Mediator, The Saints, and Mary,' the outcome of the official United States Lutheran-Catholic dialogue. By utilizing this official document, a process for reception of this dialogue is advanced.
