  • How can a Chinese church in North America help a Chinese Christian to find a comfortable niche for serving Jesus Christ in his church by discovering his spiritual gift(s) and his area(s) of strength which have already been imbedded in his personality? This study will seek to provide a biblical framework of spiritual gifts and to suggest a simple spiritual gifts and personality test to Chinese church leaders so that they can help Chinese Christians in North America, whether Overseas-Born or American-Born, to focus their thoughts on their uniquenesses in God instead of on their differences. The end result is to enhance his self-esteem and sense of belonging and personal satisfaction by glorifying God and edifying others. A believer will achieve this goal by making his unique contribution to the body of Christ with his passion (serving in a ministry for which he has enthusiasm and emotional energy), spiritual gifts (performing functions which use his particular giftedness), and personal style (functioning relationally in a role that energizes the volunteer rather than drains him emotionally). The end result is to enhance his self-esteem and sense of belonging and personal satisfaction by glorifying God and edifying others and then the people in the church will experience unity, service, and joy.
