Abstract
  • This study implemented a spiritual formation curriculum at Metropolitan AMEZ Church in Norfolk, Virginia, based on the AMEZ Book of Discipline. The curriculum consisted of four spiritual practices: personal Bible study, consistent prayer, accountability, and sharing the Christian faith. In twelve sessions, small groups received lectures, instructions, and training in which their spiritual growth was monitored by pre and post-test data. Participants were empowered and the overall conclusion was that through a small spiritual formation group, foundations were laid to enhance the present ministry.
