Abstract
  • Biblical and relevant preaching significantly promotes numerical growth of American-born baby boomers and busters in the Chinese church. The study evaluates the content and delivery of sermons of Jesus Christ, Charles Swindoll, an overseas-born pastor, and an American-born Chinese pastor. The research includes comparing sermon content and style, and comparing sermon evaluation surveys of the two sermons by the overseas-born and American-born congregations. The conclusion is that biblical preaching needs to be understandable, relevant, practical, and appropriate to each generation.
