- Abstract
- The design of this project is to lead a church to develop a clear vision for culturally relevant ministry through the discovery of core values. The goal of this project is to enable the church community to embrace biblical core values in the discovery of functional values which determine the vision for ministry in the local church. The project will involve the identification of core values on two levels of church leadership. First, the church staff will engage in the process of identifying core values in personal ministry as well as for the Christian community. Second, participants from the church body will be involved in identifying core values. The articulation of core values will lead to the development of a clearly defined vision for ministry. The project leader will lead the staff and congregation through the discovery process. The process will be accomplished through an off-campus retreat, seminar sessions, and a series of sermons on the biblical core values of Christian community. Participants will evaluate each stage of the process for clarity and application.
