Abstract
  • This project examines the interaction between parish pastors and pastoral counseling specialists. Through the use of questionnaires, three group meetings in each town, and literature research it develops seven guidelines. In order to interact, pastors and pastoral counselors should 1) act on the desire to have better relationships, 2) examine and acknowledge that the goals of each ministry are essentially the same, 3) define and affirm pastoral identity, 4) define the boundaries and the relationship of pastoral care and pastoral couns eling, 5) explore the role of community in the healing process,6) clarify accountability of persons in ministry, and 7) develop trust and respect.
