Abstract
  • This project attempts to show an approach to human services as they relate to the church's ministry to urban evangelization. This is done by the establishment of a soup kitchen and a 100 bed emergency shelter for the homeless. The human services are set up in such a way as to follow a theory of evangelization that will enable them to be repeated in other communities, and allow the poor and the larger community an opportunity to live the Gospel message in such a way that both become part of the problem and solution. The church is seen as the instrument of the Spirit enabling communities to realize its calling to truly live the faith we all proclaim by hearing the cry of the poor.
