- Abstract
- Using pro-active research through interviews and questionnaires, the author discovered few people being ordained as elders or deacons in the Presbyterian Church (USA) understand their ordination promise to 'sincerely receive and adopt the essential tenets of the Reformed faith.' The author's project discusses essential tenets and offers a series of studies for church officers with biblical and theological resources describing essential tenets listed in the Book of Order. The studies also provide examples of specific faith practices to encourage practical application of these essential beliefs in the lives and ministries of church officers in the Presbyterian Church (USA).
