- Abstract
- The author purposed to show that Sabbath keeping is desired by God and is best accomplished in community. American culture has made it difficult for people to keep Sabbath, and the discipline required to stand up against the culture has greatly diminished. The author included biblical study, theological research, work with a small group undertaking the challenge of keeping Sabbath together, and a plan for further teaching for a specific congregation on keeping Sabbath. The author concluded that Sabbath keeping is a discipline that benefits from group support and has rich restorative benefits for the body, mind and soul.
