This project proposes that the 'personal influence' model of communication articulated by Elihu Katz and Paul Lazarsfeld will diminish dysfunctional communication among members of local congregations, and tests the model in First Church of God (Mount Sterling, Ky). The project demonstrates that 'official personalities' connected with information enhance communication and diminish dysfunction.
