Abstract
  • Partners International (PI), formerly known as Chinese Evangelistic Crusade (C.N.E.C.) was founded in 1940s. It first adopted the strategy of using Western resources to support Chinese evangelists to share the Gospel with their own people. By the 1960s CNEC-PI grew from an evangelistic effort to the Chinese to global mission agency. CNEC-PI as a pioneer in partnership mission explored adaptive strategies and contextualization for about 70 years. This study was conducted based on archival research, interview, and data analysis to provide a historical account of the formation and development of CNEC-PI. The missionlogical implications of the research findings are: the articulated values of PI, the partnership models' development and PI's accountability.
